East Asia-ASEAN countries look forward to promoting new energy cooperation
The East Asia Summit New Energy Forum and the China-ASEAN New Energy Forum were both recently opened in Kunming. The East Asia Summit countries and ASEAN countries all expressed their common wish to request the continuous improvement of accelerating the multilateral bilateral international cooperation mechanism for new energy, and also hope to build a green, interconnected, reciprocal, and multi-regional new energy landscape.
Representatives from countries and international organizations such as China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, the United States, Australia, Nepal, etc. attended the conference.
At present, international energy cooperation has shifted from traditional fossil energy mining cooperation to an industrial chain of low-carbon, clean-oriented energy economy, and new energy international cooperation has become the emphasis. Most of East Asia and ASEAN countries are the developing countries with insufficient energy supply and low energy consumption per capita, but they have abundant new energy resources and huge potential for development.
The East Asia Summit New Energy Forum and the China-ASEAN New Energy Forum were aimed to coordinate the East Asia Summit countries and ASEAN countries to further promote bilateral multilateral cooperation in the field of new energy and contribute to sustainable development and prosperity in the region, as well as for the benefit of all peoples.
