Max40-EU is a sort of 40 amp solar charge controller.
It means 12V/24V automatic recognition as well as 40A charge and discharge current.
Wiring of solar controllers:
We strongly recommend connecting a fuse directly to the battery to protect any short circuit during the battery wiring. Solar PV modules create current immediately while light strikes them. Even under the bad light conditions, the high voltage can be generated also. So always avoid sunlight during the mounting process. Never touch uninsulated cable ends, use insulated tools only, and make sure that the wire diameter is in accordance with the solar charge controller’s limited currents.
